Education:

I joined WPI after completing my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota in 1997. My Ph.D. thesis, Quality Planning for Distributed Collaborative Multimedia Applications, included methods for predicting the performance of multimedia applications based on a user-level quality model. I received tenure and promotion to Associate Professor in 2004 and promotion to Full Professor in 2009. My main research interests include multimedia networking, congestion control, network games and information filtering.

My wife and I have 2 (adult) kids, 2 granddaughters, 2 cats, 2 dogs, a lot of computers, and a whole bunch of games and game devices.
