I have been a computer science faculty member
for over 20 years (18 of them at WPI.)
I entered computer science through theory, but segued rapidly
into compilers, in particular, attribute grammars.
I have always liked to write, and have a joint appointment
in the Technical Communication
program.
In the last few years, all these interests have merged and
reappeared on the web.
Thus, I now do research in distance education,
hypertext authoring, and language implementation
with projects that relate to compilers, authoring,
and teaching. (Click on projects.)
In the remainder of these documents, you will see the synergy
between all these areas as they apply
to my research, teaching and even service.
