Breaking Bob |
Brian Copeland Breaking Bob is a single-player arcade game featuring gameplay similar to the classic "brick breaker" in three unique game modes: Classic, Advanced, and Timed. The object is simple: control paddle objects to bounce a ball that destroys bricks. Normal mode embodies the classic brick breaker level design and features a single paddle. Advanced mode incorporates a controllable paddle on each edge of the screen. In either, the goal is to destroy all of the bricks while preventing the ball from going out of bounds. In Timed mode there are no boundary penalties; instead players earn a score based on how many points are obtained within the time limit. Technical game features include motion and collision mechanics between different objects, interactive UI, and the regulation of objects, score, and time between various game modes. |
World War Done |
Sean Briggs The year is 1923, and Austria-Hungary, hungry for vengeance, rebuilt the man who started the Great War (by dying) in the first place as a giant construct of destruction. This game is a third person 2.5D shooter, in which the goal is to pilot your biplane through a horde of enemies until you reach the end of the level, where you crash into Mecha Franz Ferdinand to kill him before he can restart the Great War by dying. The game itself uses parallax to simulate a 3D world. The player pilots a biplane which can strafe left and right, as well as barrel roll to avoid projectiles, and shoot to destroy enemies. The Archduke will also fire his own weapons: lasers locked on to your position, missiles from the top of the screen, and his own mustache as a boomerang from the back of the screen. The onslaught only grows as you approach him, can you kill him before he dies? |
Type Casting |
Erik Cerini Type Casting is a typing combat game in which the player is a wizard that was mysteriously teleported away from home. In this new realm of "the Internet," the wizard’s magical abilities are only recharged by typing the responses of his enemies, the random internet commentators. The major game features include spell casting (the wizard builds up mana by defeating enemies and can cast Fire, Wind, and Ice spells) and increasing difficulty in response strings as more enemies are defeated. Major technical features include random sentence generation from a finite dictionary, random enemy generation, and dynamically responsive player string input. |

Stomping can be made easier by hitting the opponent with a laser, which disables their advanced movement techs (dashing, jumping, and lasering).
