Freshmen Advising

It is important to get as much out of your advisor as you can!

I can provide suggestions and information that can help you find the right path through WPI.

In may ways the freshmen year is the hardest -- the first term in particular.

So ... before we meet, please give some thought to the following:

• What are your life goals? (might as well start with the big one!)
• Career goals?
• Educational goals?
• Do you have any questions about the WPI Degree Requirements?
• Computer Science Distribution Requirements?
• What will be your MQP area? (possibly too early to know?)
• IQP area? (not necessarily too early to know!)
• What SS courses do you plan to take to support the IQP?
• Would you like to do an off-campus Project?
• Sufficiency area?
• Minor? (optional!)
• Double Major? (very optional!!)
• Other opportunities such as co-op, pre-{dental, med, vet, law}, BS/MS, teacher certification?
• Courses at other Worcester Consortium schools?

• Finally, and taking into account all of the above, what courses would you like to take this year?
