Faculty and Alums Share Memories
"I need to look up the class and teacher, but there was a software design class where we worked in a team and talked to end users; designed; prototyped; developed; tested; and finally presented a software program. I loved the class and when I started my job at Cambridge Technology Partners; I even appreciated it more. The class was exactly like what work would be like!" -- '92
"Programming in SCHEME at 3am, and a really great MQP team. " -- '94
"Being the first students to move from Atwater Kent to the new Fuller building" -- '91
"LISP courses just after lunch with professor Becker. It was warm, likely D-term... so hard to concentrate and yet he was always full of energy and passion. Larry Moe & Curly VAX Assembler programming." -- '90
Faculty and Alums Identify WPI People Who Made a Personal Impact
"Michael Gennert - great teacher, great mentor." -- '94
"Matt Ward, who convinced me to stay for graduate school; which gave me career the best possible start; and how to keep a sense of humor." -- '91
"Professor Coggins in one of my first CS courses said something that changed my view of IT and the world for ever. A pity he didn't stay. Professor Becker was always trying hard even the days we weren't. Professor Hardell had a reputation as a tough cookie...and turned out to be a really sweet lady. But the faculty member that had the most profound impact on me was Music professor Louis Curran. Incredible drive and passion for things well done, grit; belief in oneself... being able to laugh and have fun while working and yet being a stickler for excellence. And the true belief of "team". Developing and protecting the ones lagging behind instead of culling; sticking together through good and bad times. I am thankful for all the great faculty and friends I had at WPI; yet he had by far the most impact on my life." -- '90

Bob Mason will be bringing the Nintendo Power glove from our MQP.
Here's a link where you can view it or download it:
It's in MKV format, so Windows media player may struggle - but VLC
Media Player can decode it just fine. It went from an initial analog
recording to digital editing (in the early 90's), back to analog (VHS), and
then back to digital again, so it's definitely not the cleanest copy -
especially the audio.
