Faculty and Alums Share Memories
"I really enjoyed working with the WPI students -- they were a ton of fun to have in class." -- '00
"Project-based curriculum was engaging, fun; and well-prepared me for life after WPI." -- '01

Faculty and Alums Identify WPI People Who Made a Personal Impact
"The dept as a whole was a great place to "grow up" as a young faculty member." -- '00
"I felt the whole staff was very talented, but Professor Heineman stood out to me in particular. He has a real passion for computer science." -- '00
"Prof. Elke Rundensteiner - my PhD advisor." -- '02
"The greatest impact was Professor Charles Rich. I had him as a professor while completing my Master's, and he changed my life. He re-introduced me to AI and gave me the first taste of affective computing and human-robot interaction. Soon after; he helped me get my first research job. I co tuned to meet with Prof. Rich over the following years; and when I was finally ready to pursue my PhD; he was very helpful; giving advice on where to apply; what to consider; and providing a recommendation. While working on my PhD; he continued to be supportive and was always willing to provide mentoring. Two years ago; I finally finished my PhD; researching topics I first discovered in his course. When he passed away last year; my heart was broken; as I not only loss a great professor but also an amazing mentor and a good friend. He changed my life; and I will always remember and appreciate what he has done for me." -- '01
"Heineman" -- '00
