My own first programs for real hardware were written in WATFOR for the 7090 in October 1964. This is pretty pedestrian compared to that telephone dial of DCB's, but I think it squeezes in earlier. I continued that fall on the IBM 1620, programming in GOTRAN, FORTRAN II, and assembler.
