RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
- May 2005 - Present. CAPE System.
I am a member of the CAPE Group, a Constraint-exploiting Adaptive
Stream Processing Engine. Collaborating with other students in WPI
database research group, I am working on multiple continuous query
processing and optimization techniques with window constraints.
- May 2003 - Present. Rainbow System.
I am a core member of the Rainbow Group, an algebraic XML query
processing platform. Collaborating with other students in WPI database
research group, I am working on algebraic XQuery optimization
techniques in native XQuery processing, multiple query optimization
using views and XML publication and storage. In particular, I explored
and designed XQuery decorrelation for nested XQuery FLWOR with ordered
semantics. I built part of the demonstrated Rainbow system at
SIGMOD'03.
- May 2001 - May 2003. XCache System.
XCache system is a semantic caching for answering XQuery using views.
Collaborating with other student, I built part of the system shown in
the demonstration session of SIGMOD'02. In particular, I proposed the
fine replacement strategies suitable for XQuery containment
matching. I also conducted experiments for performance analysis for
the replacement model. Besides the demonstration we also have papers
published on this in WIDM'02 and DKE journal.
- Feb. 1999 - Jul. 2000. Prefetching and Caching for Proxy Server.
This project aims to build software Proxy Server with function of dynamic
prefetching and cache. We proposed several strategies based on user access
pattern, network traffic measurement and predications. I proposed part of
system modeling, designed and implemented of the proxy server using C/C++.
