Trouble With Turnin CS 2135 C98
CS 2135 Trouble with turnin
-
If turnin gives you an error message that says you can't turn in
that project (``invalid project'', for example), then either you mistyped the
project name, or the project is no longer open, i.e., you're too late.
(Or, we haven't initialized the project yet. But of course the CS 2135 staff
is infallible, so that'll never happen.)
-
Other than invalid project names, most problems seem to occur when trying to
run turnin from a MIPS machine rather than an alpha.
The usual symptom is that the program never terminates.
Try running it from reno or res.
-
If you're not sure if it's one of the above problems,
or even if you're sure it isn't but there's still a reasonable amount of time
before the deadline, ask for help,
including specifics of your problem: what machine(s) you tried to run it from,
exactly what command(s) you issued, and what the results were.
-
If none of the above apply
- there isn't enough time left to get help,
you've run the program correctly from an alpha,
and it still doesn't work
- then and only then, send an email message to
cs2135_ta@cs.wpi.edu
with the following parts:
-
A specific account of your unsuccessful effort to get turnin to
work, as above.
-
The files you would have turned in, included in the body of
the email. Do not make them ``MIME attachments'', as some of
us use MIME-challenged email readers and therefore won't be able to read
the attachments. Use something obvious, like a line of hyphens or some such,
as a separator between included files.
