I play bridge in tournaments part of
ACBL, and also at WPI on wednesday lunch
hour. I have been able to play only in 2 tournaments so far, and I have about
20 gold points. My best so far is coming second in Los Angeles regional
in 2003 in team event, flight B.
In India, I played bridge regularly from 1995 to 1998. I was a popular player
in the Madras Bridge circuit. I have won lots of prizes in
the Madras Bridge circuit, in the district level tournaments and also in the
IIT Bridge circuit. I was a key player in the Ganga hostel team, which won the
Bridge gold in 1996 and 1998, I being the captain of the team in 1998. I am
also keenly involved in increasing the popularity of the game especially among
students. In case you want to play Bridge or want to know about it, feel free
to contact me.
I am an ardent fan of cricket. My favorite players
that I have watched play (not all are currently playing) include:
Wasim Akram (Pakistan), Muralitharan (Sri Lanka), Ambrose (West Indies),
Lara (West Indies), Tendulkar (India), Irfan Pathan (India), Richards (West Indies),
Laxman (India).
I also play cricket once in a while. I will always cherish the long
sessions of cricket in the sixth wing corridor with SK, Benz, Bachchus,
Kaathu, Cheema and other sixth and pseudo sixth wingers during my IIT days.
