Password generation is tied to course status. If you add students (either individually or by adding a classlist) when the course status is open, Turnin will immediately email the student (at their wpi.edu address) an initial password and the Turnin URL. If the course status is new, Turnin will not send a password immediately; instead, the password will be sent when you change the course status to open.
The reset password option under Manage Class lets you (or your TAs) enter a username that needs a new password. Turnin will email a new temporary password to that usermame at their wpi.edu address. You do not have a way to set the password directly.
