CS503 - Enrolling in ReCourse

Following are directions for using ReCourse. Use a recent browser - Netscape tends to work better than IE. If you have *any* trouble at all, email me. Don't waste time and get frustrated. I can straighten out any problems you have.

To use ReCourse:

  1. Go to: http://penguin.wpi.edu:4546/

  2. Select Students

  3. Then select "CS503 Foundations" and

  4. Bypassing "User Name" and "Password", enroll yourself using "Add New User"

  5. Fill in the form: use the username for the email address you put in. Put in the entire email address (e.g., mine is kal@wpi.edu) Group ID will not be used, so I'd like to use this field for a phone number I can reach you at. Level is Student

    Press Submit.

  6. A password will be emailed to you. (If not, contact me)

  7. Now, you should log into ReCourse: Repeat this procedure (Click on Student) except use your new username and password.

  8. Immediately change your password to something you can remember.

  9. Click on the BB. have patience. Sometimes it is slow to load. See if there are messages. Click on the other tools to use them. Remember, if you have any problem, email me!
