Project Specification

In the past, people have received low scores on this. Problems have been lack of or a poor Audience Analysis and results, poorly described task section and lack of specifics in the Design section. This isn't something to do rapidly. Be sure to include the names of the people doing the project!

This project specification explains the purpose, contents, schedule and production concerns for ***Your name(s) and links to your project pages here***'s AWT Project.

1. Product or Subject (0.2 points)

Briefly explain what the project is. Who will use it? Why? What problem or questions will this help users solve? What other solutions or related information exist?

2. Users (0.5 points)

Describe the demographics of your users. How did you ascertain that this is your audience? What did you find out from your audience analysis? How else did you gather information, and what information did you gather? Show your results clearly.

3. System Objectives (0.1 point)

Explain the project's objectives. Explain if and when the project will need revisions and if/how they will happen.

4. Type of System (0.2 points)

What type of system is this? That is, what technologies do you plan to use? (The system is likely Web-based consisting of WWW pages and Java, JavaScript and/or Perl/PHP code etc., but, be as specific as you can be right now) What makes your project Adaptive?

5. Tasks (0.5 points)

What tasks do users (not you, the designer) need/want to accomplish that your system will help them with?

Be specific! This is the place to include detailed user tasks

6. Design (0.3 point)

What are the system tasks corresponding to the user tasks listed above? That is, what tasks will you be performing?

If a group project, who will be assigned the responsibility for what tasks?

Show a diagram of how the system will function

7. Schedule and Distribution (0.1 point)

Show a (tentative) schedule and indicate, for groups, who will do what parts. Where will this project be used and how will it get there? For example, one of last year's groups had a link put from WPI's Residential Services to their restaurant finder.

8. Annotated Bibliography (0.1 point)

An expanded or better version of your annotated bibliography. Be sure to mention how your project differs where appropriate.
