Individual Differences

The study of Individual Differences involves research into how individuals differ in terms of how they think/solve problems (cognitive style, cognitive abilities), personality and their level of expertise (domain knowledge). Knowledge of how a person uses information presented to them to solve a problem can be used to design systems that present them with the information most likely to be needed and in the optimal format for their cognitive style.
