Due date: Friday, September 3rd, by 11:59pm
The purpose of this assignment is to prepare you for future coursework by creating and naming project teams.
The assignment has two objectives:
Choose two members of your class as project partners. These lucky people will be collaborating closely with you in most of your class projects.
You must choose students in your own class. No mixing with Professor Moriarty's students! It makes logistics at the end too difficult.
Try to find partners who will complement your abilities. If you don't think you're a strong artist, partner with at least one artist. If you don't think you're a strong coder, partner with at least one coder.
Three shall be the number of students on a team, and the number of students on a team shall be ... three.
If one student is left over after everyone else has formed three-member teams, one (and only one) team will have four members.
If two students are left over, those students will become the one and only two-member team.
If you find yourself stuck with a partner who you think is not carrying their weight, or is unreasonably difficult or scary to work with, you can petition your Professor to dissolve your team. This serious action should be taken only as a last resort, and will be vigorously discouraged.
Soloists will expected to submit assignments that meet the same standards of quantity, quality and timeliness as those created by a partnership. There will be absolutely no deadline extensions or other accommodations. This means you will have to work three times as hard to get the same grade. Your Professor will enforce this standard without mercy. Think very carefully before you decide to break up a team!
Once you have your partners, choose a name for your project team.
Team names and members will be on the project team list once turned in.
When ready, or by the due date, whichever comes first email the TEAM NAME and the NAMES and EMAIL addresses of all team members to: claypool@cs.wpi.edu. Use "IMGD 1001 Project 1" as the subject.
