Advising Preferences

You can customize the "Advising Dashboard" to better serve your needs. You have several options, and defaults are shown hilighted in gray:

Sort my Advisee List Alphabetical by Advisee name within year Group advisees by category (such as Class of 10, Class of 09) and then sort by name within each category.
Alphabetical by Advisee name Sort all advisees by name only.
Include advisee photos on page Yes Determine whether small images are to be included with the list of advisees.

When between terms show my advisees as of The term just completed Provides an accurate historic view of advisee lists. Useful during the summer to pick up graduating seniors.
The term just about to begin Provides most up-to-date view of advisees. Useful to identify when a student will change status (for example, full time to part time).
Display height of new comment box 20 Provide plenty of space when adding new comments into the folder
Display height of old comments box 7 Show old comments briefly (though, scrolling is enabled)
By default new comments should be available to Me only Restrict access to comment so other advisors will not be able to read this comment. Use when you wish to keep a comment private between yourself and your advisee
Any advisor for student Other advisors of the student (for example, double majors) can see this comment. Also, should the student change advisors, then this comment will be visible to any new advisor
By default new comments will be available to student: Yes Make the comment available to the student
No Ensure that student cannot read the comment
Communication methods Telephone Tell advisees of a phone number (such as cell phone or office phone) where you can be reached
Other Tell advisees of an alternate way to be reached (such as AIM text, off-campus email or a cell phone number)
Inform me of: CDR Status Show MQP/IQP/Suff completions
NRs Show when a student has NRd a course in the current or past term
Change in Academic Status Show when students become suspended, or complete a suspension
A load of more than [10.5] credit hours Useful for detecting when students overload. Note that the value reflects a full load of three courses plus one PE class
A load of less than [6] credit hours Useful to detect when students register for less than a full load of classes (i.e., an underload)
Comments changed in the last [60] days Useful to identify those students that have active comments
Schedule changes in the last [60] days Useful to identify those students who have uploaded a revised proposed schedule
