Everyone is interested in grades, so let's get that out of the way. Grades will be computed approximately according to the following distribution:
There is an extra 5% which will be either determined by class participation or will be added to the homework assignments.
My information is on my home page. You can find my schedule, including office hours. However, if you need to contact me at any time, feel free to stop by or make an appointment. You may also reach me on AIM: gpollice, MSN: gpollice@rcn.com, or Skype: gpollice. If I'm on-line, you can try to get my attention. The worst that will happen is that I'll tell you to come back later.
You are encouraged to collaborate by forming study groups and on some homework assignments that are specifically specified as ones that you may collaborate on. You are not allowed to collaborate on exams and other assignments. If you are in doubt about whether you may collaborate with other students, ask the professor.
Violations of this policy on any assignment or exam will result in an NR for the course and a referral to the Student Life Office, in accordance with WPI's academic honesty policy.
If you are unsure whether an activity would constitute cheating, ask the professor.
If you need course adaptations or accommodations because of a disability, or if you have medical information to share with me, please make an appointment with me as soon as possible. My office location and hours are posted on my home page. If you have not already done so, students with disabilities, who believe that they may need accommodations in this class, are encouraged to contact the Disability Services Office (DSO), as soon as possible to ensure that such accommodations are implemented in a timely fashion. The DSO is located in Daniels Hall, (508) 831-5235.
