The course project constitutes a significant portion of your grade. General Description

This term you will be implementing the control subsystem for a "robot lawnmower." This is a new product that will revolutionize lawn care. It will efficiently navigate any rectangular area, completely mowing all open spaces while utilizing its power wisely. The hardware has been built and a software interface to the mower driver has been built. In addition, a simulator is available for testing purposes. You will build the control logic that will direct the mower, respond to external stimulii (such as obstacles), and efficiently mow the specified area.

At the end of the term, there will be a "mow off" to determine the most efficient control subsystem. Valuable prizes will be awarded to the winning team. There may also be an award for the best design and implementation, but hopefully that will be the same team as the one that wins the mow off.
