Collaboration & Creativity Support Research Group
Collaboration and creativity are two characteristics of successful people, organizations, and nations. Projects requiring intellectual effort are seldom done by single persons today. The future of global communities working together to solve hard problems is here and we are realizing the vast potential of such communities. The most successful teams are those that collaborate most effectively. Innovative organizations are those that provide the opportunity for individual creativity that can be developed into collaborative creativity and eventually collaborative product development activity.
Technology support for collaboration and creativity is an important research area today. The leading researchers in creativity support have been those in the human-computer interaction (HCI) community. However, understanding creativity and collaboration is a much broader area that is just beginning to be addressed by an interdisciplinary community. The CCSRG is a group interested in understanding how technology can be used to support collaboration and creativity and to participate in addressing some of the areas of this interesting field.
The CCSRG is open to all graduate and undergraduate students at WPI as well as interested faculty. This is a discussion oriented group where we will select relevant papers to review and encourage members to work on projects that will further collaboration and creativity research. We will identify research questions that can be pursued as MQPs or graduate projects and theses.Faculty Advisor
