| Meia | This gun is the god of all light guns. It is relatively light and extremely accurate. You have to purchase the gun along with a Namco game, either Time Cop or Point Blank. Both of the games are worth buying though and since you get the game and the gun for $50.00, it’s a good deal. If I were to suggest one gun, this would be it! |
| Bonaire | Let’s just come out and say it: the Namco Guncon is the only licensed PlayStation light gun worth having, because it’s the only PlayStation light gun with reliable (and pinpoint) accuracy. The idea of giving the Guncon a video input was ingenious—and reportedly conceived because the PlayStation hardware on its own doesn’t work well with light guns. But, hey, whatever the reason, the result is gaming bliss. The design looks good, the trigger feels great, and the weapon is light enough that you can play through most any game with a minimum of shoulder crampage. There are two minor drags. The first is that you can’t buy the Guncon separately: you have to buy it with Time Crisis (now almost impossible to find) or Point Blank (which is a fine alternative—heck, I think it’s more fun than Time Crisis). The second is that if your PlayStation is connected to your TV with an RF adapter, you need to buy a $20 AV adapter to provide a video jack for the Guncon. (If you’re still using an RF adapter to play videogames in 1998, though, you need to spend an additional couple of grand for a new brain.) |
| Innova | This is THE light gun you should be using when playing Elemental Gearbolt. Namco's GunCon is without a doubt the best light gun that is available for the Sony PlayStation. There is nothing else on the market that can compete with the accuracy that you get with this gun. The only thing the GunCon is missing is auto-reload and auto-fire features. But quite frankly, those are pretty useless in Elemental Gearbolt. If you want the most out of Elemental Gearbolt, you'll want to play it using this gun. Buy it! |
