I had a mishap with my Garmin Oregon 450 while geocaching one day. I dropped it on some rocks on a nice multi I was hunting. I first thought I'd have to purchase a new unit, but while searching around, I came upon an Instructable site that walked me through replacing the touch screen of the Oregon. I ordered a replacement screen for less than US$20 from ebay (not from the vendor they mention on the instructables site, as they failed to ship that one time). The replacement touch panel came well padded, and looked just like the original one, save for the off-white background on the "Garmin" banner at the bottom. I think this is technically a 450t screen, but it works just the same on the 450 that I have, since the only difference is the "t" comes with maps.

Below are the images from my replacement process. Given how splintered my touch screen panel was, it took a lot of care to remove it and the goop. I'm very happy with the result now though. The screen seems a little dimmer than the original. Not sure though.
