CS 1005 - Introduction to Programming
A Term 2001 - Grading Policy
The final grade for each student will consist of quiz grades (64%),
homework grades (28%), and lab/in-class-group-work grades (8%).
The following ranges will be used to determine final grades. If
necessary, the boundaries for final grades may be lowered.
- A: 86 - 100
- B: 75 - 85
- C: 64 - 74
Quizzes (64%)
Five quizzes will be given. The
four highest
quiz grades will each count
16% toward your final grade. Because one quiz grade will be
dropped, there will be NO excused absences from
quizzes! No makeup quizzes will be given.
Homework (28%)
Four homework assignments will be given,
worth 7% each.
Labs/In-class-group-work (8%)
Six
labs will be given during conference sections on Wednesdays
beginning September 5. In-class group work
assignments will given on an
unannounced basis throughout the term. Each lab and in-class assignment will
be worth 1%. The highest 8 of these grades will count toward your final grade;
the others will be dropped. Because some of these grades will be dropped,
there will be NO
excused absences and NO makeups for labs or in-class assignments!
