Interests

- Classical music. I particularly enjoy early music, (12th - 17th century). I sing in my church choir, and for several years I sang with Harvard Pro Musica, a community choral group in Harvard, MA. I play the recorder with a group of early music enthusiasts from the Worcester area. I have also played the clarinet in my town's summer band, and I'm a mediocre pianist.

- Gardening. I am a member of the New England Wild Flower Society , and I am in the process of obtaining a Certificate in Native Plant Studies, in a three-year program offered by NEWFS at Garden in the Woods in Framingham, MA. Here are some pictures of my garden.

I am a contributing writer for Common Ground, the newsletter of the Boxborough Conservation Trust, and have written a series of articles on invasive plants, in addition to several other articles on landscaping with native plants:

- Outdoor activities. I especially enjoy cross-country skiing and walking.
