The Visible Web Browser

The Visible Web Browser is an educational tool developed at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. It is a Web browser, and allows the user to view the HTTP messages it exchanges with a Web server as Web documents are requested and downloaded. The software is configurable to allow the user to select which portions of the HTTP traffic to view. The Visible Web Browser runs on Windows 95/98 and Windows NT systems.

From this page you can download the software, documentation, and complete source code for the Visible Web Browser. To install the software, download the software, unzip the downloaded file into an empty directory, and run setup.exe. You should also read the fine manual included in the zip file. The manual may also be downloaded separately.

Please send any comments about the program or your experience using it to dfinkel@cs.wpi.edu.
