Presentations

As part of the course each student will be making a presentation centered around the his or her class project. The main idea is to present the highlights of the project, as seen by the presentor, and to moderate discussion that arises concerning the project and the issues it raises. A good presentation will summarize the main points of the project, synthesize the various pieces of work examined and bring up discussion issues. It should be obvious from the presentation that the student has read the references and understands the issues.

Students should plan on a 30 minute presentation. This time includes questions and discussion so be sure and allow time for these activities. The following shows the schedule for each presentation.

In terms of weekly assignments, students giving a presentation do not have to turn in any reviews for that week. Students not giving a presentation for a particular week are required to turn in one paper review--either from the set of papers related to the topic for that week or one of the student's choosing.
