The Center for Research in Electronic Commerce Technology is committed to conducting research to improve the delivery of information through the Internet and to investigate how to best utilize emerging software and hardware technologies in support of electronic commerce.

The mission of the center is to conduct research activity in collaboration with its industrial partners. CRECT focuses on investigative and experimental activities that yield new knowledge about computer systems, computer network architecture and applications software that will empower the use of the World Wide Web for electronic commerce. The specific annual research projects of the center will be chosen and designed in collaboration with its industrial members.
