AIEDAM Special Issue:
New AI Paradigms for Manufacturing
Edited by : D.M. Gaines and W.C. Regli
The American Association for Artificial Intelligence's Special
Interest Group on Manufacturing workshops ('95,'96,'98, '01) have
highlighted some of the significant recent advances in academic
research and industrial practice. In 2003 we are sponsoring a special
issue of AIEDAM to
highlight current successes and to define some of the future
challenges.
Original manuscripts are solicited on topics that include:
- Agent-based manufacturing systems
- Integrated product/process development
- Manufacturing process planning
- Assembly and task planning
- Robotics and automation
- Scheduling and resource planning
- Knowledge-based manufacturing systems
- Learning and intelligent manufacturing systems
- E-Commerce and manufacturing
- Role of AI in supporting new manufacturing concepts such as agility,
virtual manufacturing, etc.
Please submit papers in PDF format to:
Note: only PDF files will be accepted.
Papers will be reviewed by a committee in order to select papers for
publication in the special issue. Quality papers that are not selected
may be considered for standard publication in AIEDAM.
Important dates:
Deadline for full papers April 15, 2002
Reviews completed July 15, 2002
Request for revisions August 9, 2002
Corrected papers due November 15, 2002
Final acceptance January 15, 2003
Submission to Cambridge UP March 1, 2003
Publication date September 2003
Prospective authors are invited to contact the guest editors with an
abstract to get early feedback on the feasibility of publication.
