Dominic is one of the first mechanical engineering parametric design
systems based on AI techniques: in this case a form of hill-climbing
search.  It introduces the concept of dependencies, and points out the
weaknesses of hill-climbing.  It also raises the question of
evaluation of AI in D systems.
