Here is a list of the first few things to do when you get to WPI:
- Visit the Computer Science (CS) Department main office in the
Fuller Labs (FL) building (room 233) to talk to the Graduate
Secretary. They will assign you an initial Academic Advisor.
- Contact your Academic Advisor as soon as possible, via email or by
visiting their office, as you will need to make an
appointment to see them in order to plan your course-work before
registering for courses.
- Go to ID Card Services, Founders Hall (lower level), to get a WPI
Identification (ID) card. Take some identification (e.g., passport, or
driver's license) and your letter of admission to WPI.
- Go to the Computing and Communications Center (CCC) Lab in Fuller
Labs (2nd floor, room 222) to request a computer account. They'll
need to see your WPI ID. The Lab is on your right just inside the
upper entrance to Fuller Labs.
- Once you have a WPI CCC computer account, you should use our
online account request form ( www.cs.wpi.edu/Account )
to request a CS account.
You will need your CCC username to complete the CS computer account
request form. You will receive notification and instructions once
your account is created, sent via email to your WPI computer
account.
- Inform the CS Graduate Secretary as soon as you change your local
address or phone number so that you can be contacted by the
department.
- Try to quickly become familiar with the CS department's Graduate
Regulations ( www.cs.wpi.edu/Graduate/guide.html ).
- If you are a supported student you may register for 10 credits
each semester.
- Our CS department web pages provide Answers to Frequently
Asked Questions About the Department ( http://www.cs.wpi.edu/Help/ ).
