ABSTRACT:
This talk examines privacy implications for user information and
actions on the Web. We examine how
information related to individual users is aggregated as a result of browsing
seemingly unrelated Web sites. We examine the privacy diffusion on the
Internet, hidden transactions, and the potential for a few sites to be able
to construct a profile of individual users.
We go on to examine the effectiveness of specific techniques to limit
this diffusion of private information to third parties. We finish with an examination of
information sharing and privacy leakage for popular Online Social Networks.
