Away: Tales of Two Faculty on Sabbatical Prof. Matthew Ward

Ward:
This was my third sabbatical. My
previous sabbaticals have been industrial research positions; my original
plan for this time was to work at the National Visualization and Bio: Prof. Ward has been
a member of the CS department since 1986.
His research interests are primarily in the areas of data and
information visualization. Prof.
Claypool: This talk provides highlights from two projects that begun
over the past year: 1) an affordable, first-look framework to test new system
combinations that support military concept of operations; and 2) detailed
measurements of the motion and scene complexities for a wide variety of video
games, useful for the design and development of thin game clients. Bio:

Claypool is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at WPI and the
Director of the Interactive Media and Game Development major. Mark earned
