An open discussion on issues
related to teaching computer science topics to non-majors at WPI Profs. Robert Kinicki & Hugh
Lauer WPI Computer Science Friday, May 16, 2008 ABSTRACT: In
this colloquium we hope to openly discuss the current course structure in the
introductory Computer Science courses designed to provide non-majors (with
some emphasis on engineering majors) with the proper background that will
enable engineering graduates to be prepared for their careers where they face
a technical world that increasingly includes both using computers as tools
and the ability to program using modern programming languages and interfaces.
After a few introductory comments by Professors Lauer and Kinicki, the
colloquium will proceed as an open discussion on how the CS Department
curriculum might be adjusted to better serve WPI engineering students. ______ Host: Michael Gennert Refreshments will be served. Last modified: May 13, 2008 |
